Expose metadata in the WebApp and make it searchable

We are collecting metadata, intrinsic and extrinsic, and we need to make it visible/searchable for the end user. This is a meta-task to track activities that contribute to this goal. Related tasks can also be found using the Metadata workflow workboard.

See also #2202 (closed) that tracks a whole lot of activities related to producing metadata, and not only exposing it.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
